The Analogy of the Slave
The best said, wisest analogy I've heard in a while.
Ok, we get the point. Anyone mad at government is just acting like a spoiled hypocrite, ignorantly decrying the very thing that makes life worth living. Tea Party people are ungrateful wretches who will someday regret the effects of their protests. In the same spirit, we can imagine what the New York Times would be writing in the 1850s, reporting on new political movements in slave states. For the leftist, which are masquerading as "progressives," freedom is a bad word.
When the middle-aged slave Jim developed a boil on his foot after a long day in the fields, he went crawling to the plantation to get it treated and bandaged. The master gladly obliged. Today Jim expresses a rising interest in the new abolitionist movement and is even demanding what he calls his freedom. This new freedom would mean an end to the amenities that are a mainstay of his life. He depends of plantation-provided food, housing, and medical care, but his living quarters are filled with pamphlets by William Lloyd Garrison and others agitating for a “new liberty.”

Lame Stream Media Continues to Promote Lies
CNN, in Monday's intriguing people, begins Rep. Steve Driehaus: The Ohio Democrat says that the protests outside his Cincinnati home have become "threatening" and "personal."
How many people participated in this "threatening" protest? (I use the singular as I can't find evidence of more than one protest outside Driehaus' house.)
Three. Three rather harmless looking middle age adults (one a minority). Maybe that's how Obama got Driehas to vote for the health care bill, by threatening to bus in protesters in front of his house.
CNN also fails to mention that the Tea Party, along with others, denounced the protests in front of Driehous' house. I denounce it too. Leave the kids out of it, even though Obama's leftists friends bomb their houses.
The Washington Post tries over blow the incident also.
In the next to the last paragraph, WaPo admits the Tea Party denounced the demonstration.

Outside his Cincinnati home, a few angry protesters wouldn't allow him a full escape from the raw and vitriolic discussions that have embroiled the health-care debate for more than a year. They showed up to decry the freshman congressman's vote for the overhaul, standing in the chilling rain most of the afternoon Sunday holding signs that read: "Driehaus Voted to Destroy Our Children's Future" and "Remember in November."WaPo later admits that the group never exceeded three. The Dems and WaPo manage to get in one of their racist rants.
The west Cincinnati neighborhood is predominantly Republican, and Driehaus did not win his precinct when elected two years ago, said his brother-in-law Zeek Childers, who lives a half-mile down the road. Strong support from the more urban part of the congressional district gave him the edge. "It's bad down here," Childers said. "This area of Steve's district is much more conservative. The black community loves him. Labor loves him. The old white guys hate him. You got that out here."Just remember, if you're an "old white guy," you don't count in the eyes of Democrats. They disregard you because of your skin color, even when they're whitest guy in the county.
In the next to the last paragraph, WaPo admits the Tea Party denounced the demonstration.
Organizers of the local "tea party" movement agreed and steered its members away from the Sunday protest. "It is completely inappropriate to be at someone's home," said Justin Binik-Thomas, 27, a budget analyst who helped found the local group. "I don't have a beef with him and his family. This is not the movement."While I denounce the huge 3 person protest (two men, one woman), I ask do we need such a wuss representing us in Congress? He caved to Obama like a house of cards. Someone should write a book about guys like this. "Profiles in Cowardice" would make a good title.

CNN Covers (Up) Searchlight Tea Party Rally
Last week I commented a couple of times at a post at Hurricane Radio, "The End Result of Hyperbolic Politics Is...". In my second comment I include some examples and links of left wing violence.
Patrick replied:
More pictures here and here.
How did CNN report on this group?
I suppose one could consider it strange that companies whose job it is to report the news don't. But, for left wing politics is more important than reporting the truth.
I know we're not supposed to talk about how liberals do it too, but my Congresswoman, Jean Schmidt received threatening voicemail over her position (voted against Obamacare) on healthcare. This exchange was the inspiration for my liberals love violence post the other day.
How is it sanctimonious to be disgusted by people throwing bricks through windows? I don't like it when anybody does that. And I hate excuses for bad behavior on all sides.
Then why are you saying you don't want to hear about libruls-do-it-to? Here's a few examples of Republican offices being shot at, vandalized, etc. A black man, Kenneth Gladney, was beaten by SEIU union thugs and called nigger by them. And, the Black Panther voter intimidation case Obama's administration conveniently decided to not prosecute. The list goes on forever. No wonder you don't want to talk about it.
Patrick replied:
This is stuff I don't recall hearing about until today. Strange that I would have heard of the tomatoes and pies, but not of these incidents.Strange? Not really. Look at this picture of the Tea Party Rally in Searchlight, Nevada.
More pictures here and here.
How did CNN report on this group?
“Hundreds of people, at least dozens of people - we haven’t gotten a count of how many people turned out there."It's no longer possible to believe CNN is simply incompetent when they have hosts like Anderson "You're a teabagger" Cooper and they consistently misreport the news.
I suppose one could consider it strange that companies whose job it is to report the news don't. But, for left wing politics is more important than reporting the truth.

Rising Anti-Semitism at the White House?
Walking out of a discussion with Benjamin Netanyahu, Obama marked a new low in Israeli/American relations. Obama's actions clearly raise the question of which question should be asked, "Is Obama anti-Semitic?" or "How anti-Semitic is Obama?"
Gateway Pundit makes a good case that the second question is the one to ask.
Obama's actions worry me. Obama's history includes many anti-Semitic friends and acquaintances: radical Leftist anti-Israel Professor Edward Said, Former PLO operative and close friend Rashid Khalidi, his racist minister Jeremiah Wright, and close terrorist friend William Ayers, and the most famous American anti-Semite, Louis Farrakhan.
Despots and tyrants rarely rise to power through direct assault. They woo the people. The seduce the masses into believing they, the tyrant, are the one who can save them and their country. The one who can make is all the way it should be. Given the rhetoric from the White House and Democrats in general we should be careful and be on alert. They may be trying to create a circumstance in which they can "justify" a dramatic taking of our rights and freedom due to the "threat" from their political opponents. When you can turn a cold eye towards one of the most persecuted people in history, who knows what your limits are?
UPDATE: 327 House members tell Obama to make U-turn on US-Israeli relations

Gateway Pundit makes a good case that the second question is the one to ask.
Do you remember when Jesse Jackson said that under Obama Jews would lose all of their clout?Gateway Pundit primarily quotes another source:
He was right.
[Adrian Blomfield being quoted by Nile Gardner who then comments.]Let's take a moment to look at Benjamin Netanyahu. Here's a heroic, highly intelligent man who has fought for his country and protected it from millions who surround it and would love to destroy it and kill every Jew living there. When the Israeli prime minister stalled, Mr Obama rose from his seat declaring: “I’m going to the residential wing to have dinner with Michelle and the girls.” As he left, Mr Netanyahu was told to consider the error of his ways. “I’m still around,” Mr Obama is quoted by Israel’s Yediot Ahronot newspaper as having said. “Let me know if there is anything new.”This is no way to treat America’s closest ally in the Middle East, and a true friend of the United States. I very much doubt that even third world tyrants would be received in such a rude fashion by the president. In fact, they would probably be warmly welcomed by the Obama White House as part of its “engagement” strategy, while the leaders of Britain and Israel are frequently met with arrogant disdain.
The ritual humiliation of the Israelis is an absolute disgrace, and yet another example of how the Obama administration views its allies with indifference, contempt, and at times outright hostility. It is extraordinary how far the Obama team has gone out of its way to grovel to state sponsors of terrorism, such as Mahmoud Ahmadinejad or Muammar Gaddafi, while kicking America’s friends in the teeth.
After his army service Netanyahu returned to the United States, studied and eventually earned a B.S. degree in architecture from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in 1975, a M.S. degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management in 1977, and studied political science at Harvard University and MIT.The U.S. has never had a man of such a combination of intellect and heroism. Perhaps if you combined Thomas Jefferson and George Washington you would have a person equal to Netanyahu.
During his military service Netanyahu participated in various operations, including the hostages rescue mission from the hijacked Sabena Flight 572 in May 1972. He was wounded during that operation as a result of another unit member's bullet emission. In 1972 Netanyahu left the army with the rank of captain.
With the outbreak of the Yom Kippur War in 1973 Netanyahu returned to Israel to participate in the war, joining the IDF forces battling at the Suez Canal and in the Golan Heights.
In 1976 Netanyahu lost his older brother Yonatan Netanyahu, who served as the commander of the elite Israeli army commando unit Sayeret Matkal and was killed in action during the counter-terrorism hostage-rescue mission Operation Entebbe in which his unit rescued more than 100 hostages hijacked by Palestinian terrorists and flown to the Entebbe Airport in Uganda.
Obama's actions worry me. Obama's history includes many anti-Semitic friends and acquaintances: radical Leftist anti-Israel Professor Edward Said, Former PLO operative and close friend Rashid Khalidi, his racist minister Jeremiah Wright, and close terrorist friend William Ayers, and the most famous American anti-Semite, Louis Farrakhan.

UPDATE: 327 House members tell Obama to make U-turn on US-Israeli relations
The letter’s lead signatories were Eric Cantor (R-VA) and Steny Hoyer (D-MD). The letter had only circulated for three days last week before garnering 327 signatures, probably the most bipartisan effort seen on Capitol Hill in this session of Congress. It provides a measure of just how far out of the mainstream the Obama administration has gotten on relations with Israel.

Liberals Love Violence
Courtland Milloy starts out his column in The Washington Post:
One sentence amuses me somewhat and illustrates Milloy's lack of historical perspective.
Now racist liberals have tied a mattress to the bottom of Florida Congressional candidate Eddie Adams Jr.'s pick up truck, causing a fire from which Adams suffered burns to his arms and hands serious enough to require skin grafts. Additionally, there has been an outbreak of vandalism against Republicans in particular in Hillsborough County, Florida.
My Congresswoman, Jean Schmidt, received a threatening voice mail in response to her vote against the health care bill.
Those of us not suffer from memory loss or selective attention disorder remember when a black man, Kenneth Gladrey, was beaten by SEIU union thugs and called nigger by them. And, the Black Panther voter intimidation case Obama's administration conveniently decided to not prosecute. The list goes on forever.
From the earliest days of the 20th century (at least), liberals/socialist have a history of violence. Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Hitler make up the worst of them. More recent examples include Obama's friend, Bill Ayers. Conservatives and libertarians, where I include myself, need to stand strong and not shrink from the challenge facing us. Have the courage to do the right thing. Remember the examples of Ghandi, Martin Luther King and Lech Wałęsa. Don't let the liberal violence, lies and threats keep you from the path of liberty and equality.
But remember, liberals love violence when it's directed at those who don't think like them and be careful out there.

I know how the "tea party" people feel, the anger, venom and bile that many of them showed during the recent House vote on health-care reform. I know because I want to spit on them, take one of their "Obama Plan White Slavery" signs and knock every racist and homophobic tooth out of their Cro-Magnon heads.Milloy then goes on to elaborate why he wants to violently remove the teeth of protesters.
One sentence amuses me somewhat and illustrates Milloy's lack of historical perspective.
Cleaver grew up in a house in Texas that had been used as a slave cabin only one generation before,...Emanual Cleaver II is 66 years old which means he as born in 1943 or 1944, twenty years after my parents were born. My grandparents were born in roughly 1890 to 1910, or thirty to forty years before my parents. Assuming the same interval, my great grandparents were born in 1860 to 1870. To put it simply, the house in Texas wasn't used as a slave cabin one generation before Cleaver was born, more likely 2-3 generations.
At this point in the campaign, office workers with the Hillsborough County Sheriff have tallied 90 reports of vandalism against cars with Republican campaign bumper stickers, and 7 such incidents against cars with Democrat bumper stickers. Other incidents include the systematic and widespread vandalism or theft of Republican campaign signs.
My Congresswoman, Jean Schmidt, received a threatening voice mail in response to her vote against the health care bill.
Capitol Hill police are investigating the threat made Wednesday night in a call to her district office in Sycamore Township. The caller mentioned he had a 9-mm gun.Republican Congressman Eric Cantor's Richmond campaign office was shot at last night.
The caller said Schmidt was a racist for opposing the bill backed President Barack Obama, whose father was African, Bennett said.
"I'm glad the president passed health care," the caller says on a copy of the recording provided to The Enquirer by Bennett. "(Racist) Republicans hate that, don't you?"
The caller also labeled as racists Rep. John Boehner of West Chester and Sen. Mitch McConnell of Kentucky, both Republicans.
"Why don't you all just change the party name to racist?" the caller said. "F--- all you racist(s)."
The man added that he wished Schmidt's back had been broken in 2008 when she was hit by a car while jogging in Miami Township.
Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor said Thursday that his Richmond campaign office has been shot at and that he's received "threatening e-mails" -- but at the same time the House minority whip accused top Democrats of trying to exploit the threats they've been receiving for "political gain."
Cantor said "a bullet was shot through the window" of his campaign office. The incident happened Monday, Fox News has learned, the latest in a rash of apparent threats and acts of intimidation against members of Congress.

Huge Backfire Predicted
Reading Yahoo's homepage, I saw this posted as a lead in: "The landmark health care vote may backfire if Obama can't sell the plan to angry voters..
The story is here.
After his complete disregard for the rights and freedom of the people, and the wishes of the majority, the next historic event will be the Democratic losses in the 2010 elections.
The story is here.
The initial blush of President Barack Obama's health care triumph immediately gives way to a sober political reality — he must sell the landmark legislation to an angry and unpredictable electorate, still reeling from the recession.Does he really think he can sell this to us? Obviously a portion of the voters have bought is already. But, a portion is always ready to buy anything the leaders of their party put out.
Voters may not buy it.
And that could mean a disastrous midterm election year for Obama and his fellow Democrats.
"We proved that this government — a government of the people and by the people — still works for the people," the president said late Sunday, beginning his sales pitch from the White House one hour after Congress passed the sweeping measure.
"This isn't radical reform but it is major reform," he added. "This is what change looks like."
This was rammed down the throats of the American people with as much cynicism, trickery, deliberate obfuscation, and budgetary tomfoolery as has ever been seen for a major piece of legislation in the history of the republic. Not to mention the demonizing and hatred thrown at genuinely concerned citizens expressing their Constitutional rights. Do they think these people are going to go quietly? Not this one.

Obama a Math Idiot?
Scanning through some of the blogs linked from my blog, I found this at Right on the Left Coast.
Listen until near the end Obama claims that there will be a 3000% decrease in health care premiums for employers. Quoting Darren, who is a math teacher, at ROTLC:
God help us all.
Listen until near the end Obama claims that there will be a 3000% decrease in health care premiums for employers. Quoting Darren, who is a math teacher, at ROTLC:
If you get a 50% decrease, that means premiums fall by half. If you get a 100% decrease in premiums, that means you'd be getting your insurance for free! So what does it mean to get a 3000% decrease? It means your insurance company is going to give your employer the insurance policy plus 29 times the premiums in cash!!!One of my pet peeves is people who think doubling something is a 200% increase, or tripling is a 300% increase. (Hint: doubling is a 100% increase.) Yet, here we have a man who claims he's going to control our budget, cut deficits, etc who doesn't know a basic principle of elementary school math.
Does this man really believe this? Do the sycophants he's talking to really believe this? Is he a liar? Does the audience care so much about putting their laws on my body (hehe) that they don't even care what he says to make it happen?
God help us all.

And the Big Fool Said to Push On
This morning Ann Althouse blogged about the Congressional Budget Office's projection over the next ten years of Obama's budget proposals.
Responding to Althouse, I took some liberties with Tennyson:
Pete Seeger wrote the other poetry that came to mind about another Democratic president.
P.S. - I wonder when and if the Democrats will ever quit blaming Bush. The Democrats have controlled Congress for over three years and have had the presidency for over a year. As Obama said himself, "we're not campaigning anymore. The election's over." But many Democrats can't seem to grasp this even though they won. They keep trying to hide their incompetence by pointing at Bush. They also like to complain about his spending. The chart below shows a telling sign. The spending really jumped when the Dems took over Congress. The president can't spend a dime that Congress doesn't allocate.
Obama's budget plans would generate deficits over the upcoming decade that would total $9.8 trillion. That's $1.2 trillion more than predicted by the administration. My thoughts went between this and Obama's insistence on passing a horribly flawed health care "reform" bill reminding me of some poetry.
The agency says its future-year predictions of tax revenues are more pessimistic than the administration's. That's because CBO projects slightly slower economic growth than the White House.
The deficit picture has turned alarmingly worse since the recession that started at the end of 2007, never dipping below 4 percent of the size of the economy over the next decade. Economists say that deficits of that size are unsustainable and could put upward pressure on interest rates, crowd out private investment in the economy and ultimately erode the nation's standard of living.
Responding to Althouse, I took some liberties with Tennyson:
Half a league, half a league,My father used to say, "Theirs in not to reason why, but to do or die" a lot for some reason, probably to get me to do his bidding without asking.
Half a league onward,
All in the valley of Debt
Rode the Democrats.
'Forward, the Light Brigade!
Charge for the guns' he said:
Into the valley of Debt
Rode the Democrats.
'Forward, the Obama Brigade!'
Was there a man dismay'd?
Not tho' the soldiers knew
Some one had blunder'd:
Theirs not to make reply,
Theirs not to reason why,
Theirs but to spend and die:
Into the valley of Debt
Rode the Democrats.
Pete Seeger wrote the other poetry that came to mind about another Democratic president.
The Sergeant said, "Sir, with all this equipmentUnfortunately to many are more than willing to follow the big fool into the big muddy.
No man will be able to swim."
"Sergeant, don't be a Nervous Nellie,"
The Captain said to him.
"All we need is a little determination;
Men, follow me, I'll lead on."
We were -- neck deep in the Big Muddy
And the big fool said to push on.
P.S. - I wonder when and if the Democrats will ever quit blaming Bush. The Democrats have controlled Congress for over three years and have had the presidency for over a year. As Obama said himself, "we're not campaigning anymore. The election's over." But many Democrats can't seem to grasp this even though they won. Idiots in Education
Trying to come up with subjects about which to blog, I often think I should simply focus on schools because there's no shortage of idiocy in our "vaunted" public school system. Almost daily we hear of stupidity on the part of teachers, administrators and school boards. We often wonder how such people manage to educate anybody. We all also know that they are notoriously poor at their jobs.
From Ionia, Michigan comes today's example of idiocy in education. A six year old kindergarten student for pointing his finger like a gun at other students.
If I had a nickel for every time a teacher assumed I should take their word for something, I'd make Bill Gates jealous.
This is another sign of the ever increasing intolerance in our society of everything male. While growing up, all the boys in my neighborhood owned numerous toy guns. Cap guns, squirt guns, pop rifles, etc. We played army, cowboys and Indians, cops and robber a lot. During early adolescence we quit because we realized fully on our own that it was childish. No parents fretted or complained. My father, a clinical psychologist with a Phd in child psychology bought me toy guns (and later a real shotgun). How did we ever survive?
My mother still lives in the same neighborhood. I've yet to hear of any of those boys shooting someone or otherwise committing violent acts. Indeed, they all grew up to be, like their parents, successful professionals and such.
Ironically, one of those boys was the intended victim of a murder plot by his wife and her lover. While one of the girls from the neighborhood became a lawyer, fell in love with a convicted murderer, smuggled a gun into a psychological evaluation session and ran off with the murderer. I don't know if the murderer played with toy guns as a kid.
How many boys will have to suffer through evaluations, therapy, medication, suspensions for innocent, normal boy acts before the grown-ups come to there senses?
From Ionia, Michigan comes today's example of idiocy in education. A six year old kindergarten student for pointing his finger like a gun at other students.
A 6 year old kindergarten student in Ionia Public Schools was suspended for using his hands to mimic a gun, while playing with other students at Jefferson Elementary School. The boy had no weapon, just his hands.Booys being boys and pretend shooting seems to be a major problem for educators.
Mason Jammer was suspended for two days, after he was caught using his hands to make the shape of a gun, and pretend-shooting with other children. Jammer's mother, Erin Jammer, received a warning about it Friday, and spoke with him about it. When he did it again Tuesday, someone from the school called his mother to say he was being suspended.
Today, Mason's mother Erin met with Superintendent Patricia Batista, and the two agreed that the situation would be handled differently in the future.
“Bang, bang, you’re dead!” For most of us, hearing such threats from a preschool boy is unsettling to say the least. While the article recommends more restraint than the school in Michigan took, boys playing with toy guns or shooting with fingers never came close to the top of any parenting topic I've ever heard discussed amongst parents I've known. Although the author of the article admits that "no study has yet linked pretend gunplay to future violent behavior, and most child experts agree that by forbidding gunplay entirely, parents give it far more power and will probably drive it underground," she follows that up with "Assuming you're willing to take their word for it..... Hahahaha!!!
In the world of hot parenting topics, boys and imaginary gunplay ranks at the top. In a culture already filled with violent video games, TV programs and images of a real war, it can be unnerving to see an innocent child pretending to kill someone. Yet no study has yet linked pretend gunplay to future violent behavior, and most child experts agree that by forbidding gunplay entirely, parents give it far more power and will probably drive it underground.
Assuming you’re willing to take their word for it, what should you do? How can you allow your kids to “experiment” and use their imagination, guns blazing, without losing your cool?
If I had a nickel for every time a teacher assumed I should take their word for something, I'd make Bill Gates jealous.
