It Just Pisses Me Off!

Poor Paris Hilton was in jail, then out, and now back in. What a cruel fate for America's favorite skank. I've avoided blogger about her but couldn't resist any longer. She's such a tempting target.

I do believe that Paris' sentence is probably too harsh but I haven't researched her case and don't plan. Paris fails to present herself as deserving of much compassion in this situation. Most people I know rejoiced at her being sent to jail and then being sent back.

My greatest wish is that the media would ignore Paris so that she could no longer be a self-destructive, lousy role model for my 11 daughter and other girls. What is it with the drunken, substance addicted, slutty young female celebrities?

Paris, Lindsey Lohan (whom I just loved as a child actress), Britney Spears and other minor young female celebrities have grabbed the media spotlight for their poor, very poor behavior.

The other night I saw Geraldo Rivera and Bill O'Reilly debating the video of the Will Ferrell and the cursing baby. One of Geraldo's points was that the cursing baby is OK because the mother must have approved. Paris', Lindsey's and Britney's mothers apparently approved their upbringing, too. Look at then now.

There's more to life, much more, than what these girls are showing our daughters. Moms and Dads, cover you children's eyes and cover their ears when anything about these highly disturbed celebrities comes on TV or the radio.

But, to quote a local TV personality (I can't remember which one), it just pisses me off that I know who they are.

BTW - Paris went back to jail and the DOW went back up. Is there a connection?

Read this excellent comment by Michelle Malkin.

Comments:
Speaking of the criminal justice 'system,' there is a current case about a preacher's wife who shot him and took off with their two kids.

She got convicted of manslaughter, and may only have to serve 60 days based on the time she served already, and is planning on trying to get the kids back from her murder victims' parents (the kids' grandparents).

Link.

I only bring this up because you called it back when it happened, and described everything that would go on, including the reduced sentence. I think I diagreed mightily (I can't find the actual post archive) about her getting leniency.

But there it is.

I'm continually amazed how women receive so much sympathy when they kill their husband or even their children, a la Andrea Yates. Men are usually portrayed as monsters. Winkler got off even lighter than I imagined. Cases like this should scare the hell out of every male. The post where I discussed this primarily is here.

Well Miss Hilton received a call from the front desk manager ( Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer) and reminded Miss Hilton to return to her room a.k.a. the slammer.

As far as I can tell Miss Hilton's 'exit stage right' outta the pokie on Thursday irked the judge as he choose not to play Celebrity Juris-Prudence with Miss Hilton.
Her attorney, Steve Levine, said, "The sheriff has determined that because of her medical situation, [jail] is a dangerous place for her."

The judge reminded the attorney's during Friday's AM proceedings that last Wednesday an under-sheriff informed him that Hilton had a medical condition and that he would submit papers to the judge to consider. He said he is STILL WAITING for the papers, they never were delivered. He also interrupted the proceedings Friday several times to state the time on the clock, and note that the papers still had not arrived.

Yet the Sheriff on TV Friday PM, alluded to the papers in hand of Miss Hilton's medical condition, so
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Jury, consider the following:

1. If Paris is ill, why send her home vs.to the Hospital? seems a resonable choice, no?

2. The Sheriff had a document in hand suggesting of Miss Hilton's medical condition THURSAY for the release. Whhy did the Judge not have the same document Friday AM? curious don't you think?

3. If another prisoner is also ill , do they get to go home?[Watch the hands go up!!! ohh, me, me, I have a tummy ache, send me home]
Bottom line the Sheriff acted on his own to release Paris on Thursday.

So, down comes the sentence from the Judge, "The defendant is remanded to county jail to serve the remainder of her 45-day sentence. This order is forthwith." Paris screams....It's not right! shouted Hilton, who violated her probation in a reckless driving case. "Mom!" she called out to her mother in the audience ( inferring to me, do something eh?).

Folks, lets be realistic, she screwed up. She also got a light sentence for a DUI which was litigated as reckless driving and was sentenced to 36 months' probation, alcohol education and $1,500 in fines. In the months that followed, she was stopped twice while driving on a suspended license. The second stop landed her in Sauer's courtroom.

She is now reaping her rewards. Does this make her a bad person? For me, nope, but a poor example for the kids of the nation.

Should she be treated differently then Jane or Joe Citizen - nope, and that is what is at stake here. The goose and the princess gander are now equal. Could a home incarceration worked, sure. Yet now with all the hub-bub this would be viewed as a 'softball approach' for the rich . Also, there is a 50-50 chance Paris would have violated that home-stay order too, but that is conjecture on my part.. That said, we are not talking 10 years at San Quintin are we? A whole 45 days, most likely 30 days all told with good behavior.

Now if you watched TV all the news and media was focused on this... I just don't get it. We are saps for worthless stuff of this nature. The public knows more about Miss Hilton, then their own congressional representatives.

Jheesh. am I done yet...? I think so.

The more I look at it the more is seems Paris is being treated as she should be. Her drama queen episode in the courtroom shows just how spoiled she is.

$1,500 fine? She spends more than that on clothes each week. A $1,500 fine would be a major inconvenience, at the least, for me. For her, no worse than losing a quarter in a Coke machine.

Paris is accustomed to avoiding the consequences of her actions. Now that she is unable to, she's freaking out like a spoiled 4 year old. No wonder so many people are rejoicing at her hardships.
