My Daughter Never Really Wanted to Be a Girl Scout, Now I'm Glad

Via DA TECH GUY: Planned Parenthood, teaching our girl scouts to be “Hot”:
Planned parenthood is certainly trying to earn their name with this nonsense, because if kids follow this advice they’d better plan for parenthood:
The World Association of Girl Scouts and Girl Guides hosted a no-adults-welcome panel at the United Nations this week where Planned Parenthood was allowed to distribute a brochure entitled “Healthy, Happy and Hot.” The event was part of the annual United Nations Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) which concludes this week.
Because this is exactly what Girl Scouts (Girl Guides is the English Version) is all about learning how to be hot.

And of course why stop there:
The New York Times recently reported that UN Population Fund had co-sponsored a very controversial curriculum with UNESCO, that included teaching children as young as five to be sexually active and training adolescents to advocate for abortion.
More from Stacy McCain:
Those of you old enough to think of Girl Scouts in terms of crafts, camping and cooking are probably astonished by this, but it is becoming increasingly obvious that the national Girl Scouts organization has been hijacked by radical feminists.

Might as well send them camping with Charlie Sheen . . .
This story was reported by Catholic Family and Human Rights Institute last year. Here's the brochure, "A Young Person's Guide to Their Rights, Sexuality and Living with HIV". Quotes from the brochure:
If you want to have sex and think you might get drunk or high, plan ahead by bringing condoms and lube or putting them close to where you usually have sex.

.....

Sometimes people choose not to have safer sex. If this is something you and your partner agree to, then it is your choice. It is not always possible to talk to your partner(s) about or to practise safer sex — for example, maybe you know that your partner will get angry or aggressive, or you don’t have access to condoms or a safe place to have sex.

.....

Some countries have laws that say people living with HIV must tell their sexual partner(s) about their status before having sex, even if they use condoms or only engage in sexual activity with a low risk of giving HIV to someone else. These laws violate the rights of people living with HIV by forcing them to disclose or face the possibility of criminal charges
It's OK not to tell your sexual partner(s) you're HIV positive? But, I digress.

Looks like Planned Parenthood is trying to drum up business at the expense of millions of girls. I tell my children that their friends will do them more harm than their enemies could ever hope to do. Their friends will encourage them to do the wrong thing, tempt them in many ways and lead them down the wrong path in the name of fun and friendship while we are on guard against our enemies. Make sure your kids realize that Planned Parenthood is a bad friend, a very bad friend. Worse than an enemy.

Comments:
This is why I struggle with Girl Scouts. My girl is a Scout but participates only in local events with her small, conservative troop. But I am also aware that the money we pay to join is used by the national organization for their programs, and even though that amount is small, we are supporting that. It's a dilemma.

As long as you're happy with the local troop, I wouldn't worry too much about where the small amount you pay to the national organization goes. You can drive yourself crazy with that sort of thing. One thing you can do is fund raising the benefits your troop as much as possible while sending the minimum amount to the national organization. Of course, you can always register your discontent with the national organization, too.

That is true. Last year she sold a lot of cookies and got a good discount on summer camp. We'd never have been able to send her without it. And, her troop got a lot of money from those cookie sales.

I have been a troop leader for 4 years and a Service Unit Administrator for Girl Scouts for 2 years. I am seriously looking at American Heritage Troops or Keepers at Home troops. They are more christian oriented and are more like scouting was years ago.
