Not My Son's Team

As anyone who occasionally reads my blog knows, my son plays high school football. Below is an epic fail from a game somewhere. The type of thing that keeps coaches awake at night and players remembered forever, for the wrong reason.

Comments:
I felt that one in the pit of my stomach.

A guy on my high school team came close one game. He intercepted a pass and was running it back for a TD. He thought the 10 yard line was the goal line and spiked the ball over his shoulder as he crossed the 10. Fortunately the other team only recovered it as a fumble.

The guy was a good player. Tied the state record for interceptions is a season and for a single game, 5 in a single game off a quarterback who later started for Wake Forest.
