The Oil Keeps Blowing and the Jobs Keep Going

Cousin Pat (not really my cousin) at Hurricane Radio rants about the "supertanker designed to suck up 500,000 gallons of oily water a day and separate the oil from the water" that is NOT being put to use cleaning up the Gulf and how the MSM is addresses the issue with its growing stupidity.

Indeed, the stupidity surrounding this disaster boggles the mind. Instapundit points out how many other available resources are being needlessly squandered by government officials and BP. (Isn't all squandering needless?)
The effort to clean up the Gulf has been plagued by a multitude of leadership failures over the 73 days of the crisis, but this week it seemed as though a glimmer of hope had arrived. The Obama administration claimed that it would start accepting help from foreign countries, and BP pledged to get more boats to the Gulf to remove crude oil as fast as possible. The AP reports that those efforts may be a sham — a make-work effort intended to drive numbers but keep boats beached
Nor are boat captains the only volunteers getting beached by the effort. Over 20,000 people have offered assistance in on-shore cleanup efforts in the region, but only a sixth of those have been put to work.

The cleanup effort has run aground, and it’s a failure of leadership. Small wonder House Democrats blocked its members from traveling to the Gulf to see the situation for themselves and the White House is blocking media access.
Welcome to Chicago style politics at the national level. All the matters is being in power. I don't think Obama cares. As he's reminded us several time, he's the president, he does what he wants.

In the mean time, 7.9 million jobs have been lost, many forever and all Obama can do is say is if not for me, we’d have 15 percent unemployment. WHAT      A      JOKE.

Next he'll be telling us too bad your spouse died from Obama care, at least you're not dead. Yet.

When Obama won the election, I never imagined this level of incompetence and political favors. Now it's hard to imagine it being any worse, but I believe he can do it. He can be worse and he will be. He has shown his potential and it is great.

How's that hope and change bullsh*it working out for you now?

Comments:
I never imagined this level of incompetence and political favors.

You never lived in a city "governed" by C. Ray Nagin. Trust me when I say it could be

So. Much. Worse.

Like I've been saying for about 63 days now, Obama has a chance to turn this catastrophe around. Not a good chance, but a chance.

The hourglass on that particular choice is emptying fast, however. All I know is that by the time we hit that event horizon, the Gulf Coast will be so damaged this nation will not recover in our lifetimes.

I hope you're wrong on this. I hope we're both wrong. But, the signs say we're right. And we're barely touching on the White House attack on a free press in order to try (very pathetically I must say) to cover up what's really happening.

Obama has a chance but does he have a clue?

I'm really glad national media and the right have decided to start covering the lack of media access to this catastrophe.

Its about time.

Hopefully, this helps shame the current officials into walking back this indefensible rule.
