Qualifications for President
Gen. Wesley Clark says, "I don't think riding in a fighter plane and getting shot down is a qualification to be president,..."
Does riding in a torpedo boat and getting sunk qualify you?
Of course, Barackmiddle name Obama has done neither of these.

Apparently, serving as the Supreme Commander of a NATO task force doesn't qualify you either, if Gen. Clark's record is any indication.
There are three qualifications for President: 35+ years old, born an American citizen and getting enough votes in the electoral college. That's it.
Then again, not every President has served in the military, and some Presidents who did turned out to be in a little over their heads when it came to the job.

jau - if Oboma's elected it will be interesting to see what really happens. Right now he seems to be all gray area with no firm positions.
Patrick - Clark's comment was simply stupid. Maybe he doesn't like Navy guys.

I'm on a mailing list with many people who have known, worked with, or worked for, Wesley Clark. None of them has a very high opinion of him--or of his opinions.
