OK, I'll Defend Al Gore On This One

PETA tells Al Gore you can't be a meat eating environmentalist.

PETA seems to have an extremely hard time understanding that humans have consumed flesh for the entire existence of the species. Humans are omnivores. They eat just about anything that they can.

PETA is one of those groups that believes they are wholly in touch with the universe, or whatever, but are actually quite the opposite. They live in a fantasy world where humans and animals are equal and the natural food chain doesn't exist.

Al, eat all the meat you want. (Although you really should cut back a little bit. You're getting a little heavy.)

Comments:
i want those anti fur, anti leather anti animals, to go into a biker bar and throw paint over the bikers for wearing leather.

the problem is, if everyone became vegetarian, more people would be starving, the world hasnt got enough room, to grow all the crops, the easiest way to get protein is by eating meat this is a great article

I didn't get to read the whole thing but I'd never thought about how grasslands, especially hilly ones, weren't really suitable for crops. I'm going to read the rest as soon as I'm able.

Of course, the oceans are great source of food also, and I don't mean seaweed.

yes, it is a bit of a big site, but even if we all ate fish, we would wipe out the entire fish eco system..

With fish becoming increasingly difficult to catch in quantity, modern fishermen and their equipment are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Cornish fishermen are using four-mile-long drift nets to catch tuna in the northern Atlantic. The nets are called 'walls of death' because of the numbers of dolphins and other unwanted fish they catch. The Japanese fish for tuna with lines up to sixty-five miles long with thousands of baited hooks. In the North Sea, trawling does more damage than pollution.
