You Can Go to Church, Just Don't Pray
Jim Bryson, Republican candidate for Governor of Tennessee, received harsh criticism because he said after a lot of prayer God "nudged" him to run. The criticism included this:
However, the same blogger likes Senatorial candidate Harold Ford quite a bit. Harold Ford filmed one of his campaign commercials inside a church. (Scroll down the Feature Video named "The Difference.") Presumedly, Mr. Ford never prays concerning elections or politics. Or, if he does, God doesn't answer him. I do wonder how filming a campaign commercial inside a church fits in with the church's non-profit, tax-exempt status.
BTW - In no way construe this post as criticism of Mr. Ford. If he is for real, he appears to be one of the better Democratic candidates in the country.
I wish God would tell some of these idiots to STFU.
