SomeMost Days I'm a Smart Ass

While getting a cup of coffee in the lunch room today a female co-worker walked in. I asked her how she was doing.

She replied, "I could be better."

"I'll agree with that," I responded.

Comments:
Did she slap you?

She just laughed. We torment each other a lot at work in a good spirited way.

BTW - aup, maybe you can answer this for me. It seems to be quite acceptable for a woman to slap a man for a quip. Why are women so violent and why is it so aceptable?
What would happen if a man slapped a woman in a case such as this?

Dadvocte, as a mental health counselor I have worked with a fairly large number of abused husbands, so that is part of the answer but also with a fairly large number of abused wifes. In a majority of cases, the husband beat the wife after she had slapped/hit/pushed/spit first. Men are just bigger and stronger and the woman gets the very short end of that stick.

Then there is a large part of the "Battered" wifes movement that has obvious political overtones. That doesn't mean it is not a real problem, it is, but I've heard female counselors say that all men are essentially rapists and batterers.

By the way, I got here via Dr. Helen, I've seen your comments there before but today I checked out the links and I really like what I see. You are now on my "Highly Recommended Reading" blog roll. Keep up the great work!

gm roper -
Thanks for the comment. I had visited your site also and was getting ready to add it to my list which I have now done.
