Air America in Trouble??

Several bloggers including Instapunk and Michelle Malkin believe Air America is in serious financial trouble. The reasoning is that Katherine Lanpher is leaving suddenly, either voluntarily or involuntarily. And because of this Air America fundraising site.

Plus the Philadelphia Inquirer reported that WHAT-AM is dropping Al Franken and Randi Rhodes. Last weekend, I heard Darryl Parks on 700 WLW radio making statements to the same effect including predicting the cancellation of the Randi Rhodes show in certain markets. WLW is one most successful of over 1,200 Clear Channel radio stations with listeners in 38 states.

Everyday on the way home from work, I try interspersing my listening of Sean Hannity with some music and Air America. Because my drive takes a little over an hour, I catch some of Ed Schultz and Randi Rhodes. Ed is OK but relatively boring. He talks with callers at length which indicates to me he doesn't have many.

Randi Rhodes must be the worst national radio host there is. At the beginning of each show she either goes on about her sex appeal and how some Republican politico would be happier if he had sex with her or does an poor politically oriented evangelical preacher routine which is supposed to be funny. Randi can run together disparate thoughts so fast that it's difficult to keep up with why they don't make sense.

Shouldn't be much of a loss if Air America goes under. Instapunk has some great insight and good suggestions on what Air America can do to survive.
